  • Tickets are on sale for the MLK Day Brunch on Monday, Jan. 19 at the Las Cruces Convention Center; tickets cost $50 and doors open at 10:30 a.m. NAACP-DAC also hosts free Conversations with Legislators on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Hotel Encanto + the event honors Dr. King's legacy.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
  • Today, the Boys & Girls Club received a $1.5 million donation from Project Jupiter to fund a new facility at 1005 El Paseo Road that will triple its capacity — expanding service from 100 to over 300 youth daily at the Doña Ana Board meeting.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

CULTURE NEWS

  • Cruces Creatives, a nonprofit maker space in the community, offers hands-on classes on woodshop tools, 3D printing, and stained-glass workshops plus a crochet club that fosters community connections.   • Local filmmakers can compete in a short film contest celebrating agriculture and ranching heritage with a kickoff event on Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Museum at 4100 Dripping Springs Road — early submission fees are due by Feb. 2 and winners will be honored on March 6.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
