  • Elijah Rey Reyes, a 24-year-old native of Tortugas, has joined the Bulletin as a reporter and is building on experience from jobs at Walmart and as a cook; he earned his journalism degree in May and is pursuing his master’s in communications.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

  • Winnie (Yu-Feng) Lee, a longtime NMSU economics professor and one of New Mexico’s Top 50 Women Leaders, has been named interim director of the Arrowhead Center and CEO of Arrowhead Inc. and will drive tech innovation and economic growth through public-private partnerships.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Las Cruces officials deployed four new park rangers to patrol parks and boost safety. They began patrolling on Feb. 1 with staggered shifts from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to address community concerns.  Las Cruces Sun News

SPORTS NEWS

  • NM State lost a basketball game to UTEP (79-69) in a road contest at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso. The Aggies will return to the Pan American Center to face Sam Houston on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
  • NM State women's tennis team earned its first spring win on Saturday at NAU Tennis Center — after an early doubles loss, strong singles play clinched a 4-3 victory. Key players rallied in tight three-set matches to secure the win.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
  • NM State swimming competed at the Las Cruces Natatorium on Saturday afternoon and won all 18 events to secure a 237 to 91 victory over the Lobos — marking its ninth win over the rival team while honoring seniors and setting new records.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
