Las Cruces residents turned a 5K race into a Valentine’s celebration today, organized by Community Options, Inc. (which supports housing and employment for people with disabilities).
The Cowgirl Gala will take place Feb.
28 from 6-9 p.m. at Las Cruces Convention Center to fund Bridle Up Hope (a program empowering local women and girls through horseback learning). The event features dancing, live music, a silent auction and a meal, with $100 tickets until midnight Feb. 19.
🎓 Education
On Feb. 13, Columbia Elementary celebrated the opening of a safe new section of the Elks Trail that gives students a better walkable route.
The trail—built by Doña Ana County, local organizations, and school leaders—links three schools and will extend into nearby neighborhoods.
🏥 Health
Bionic Barbell updated its popular SilverSneakers senior fitness program with new Kaiser pneumatic machines and dedicated coaching to help older adults build strength.
The program runs weekly at its two Las Cruces locations, and expert Brian Cady said the upgrades offer tailored improvement—one milestone at a time.
