Attorney General Raúl Torrez filed a lawsuit on April 3 in Las Cruces against Disabled Veterans Consultants for allegedly charging veterans fees for consulting services that free programs already provide.
The complaint says the company broke federal law and Veterans Affairs rules, and Torrez urged affected veterans to contact his office—several veteran groups attended the announcement.
