- ➤ The New Mexico Supreme Court voided Mawu Ekon Revels' first-degree murder conviction from a 2021 Las Cruces house party shooting on April 7—sending his case back to district court for new sentencing and a possible retrial after judges ruled aggravated assault cannot be used as the predicate felony for murder. - ➤ Peter Ney, known for his work from New York to Hollywood, filmed his debut feature film 3 entirely in southern New Mexico using local investors and a tax incentive. The movie, which tells a story of love and unexpected change, will premiere at the Las Cruces International Film Festival on Saturday, April 12th at 1:30 p.m.—marking his first full-length film as director.
