Former magistrate judge Jose 'Joel' Cano and his wife Nancy were arrested by ICE on April 24 on charges of tampering with evidence linked to Venezuelan gang member Cristhian Ortega-Lopez from their Las Cruces home— a hearing on detention is set for April 29.

State officials in Las Cruces reminded horse owners to vaccinate their animals against West Nile virus in a joint effort with NMDA, NMDOH—and the Livestock Board.
