- ➤ More than 400 people gathered Thursday morning at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum for the 17th annual Lou & Mary Henson Community Breakfast to support the Boys & Girls Club and celebrate local youth, including New Mexico Junior Youth of the Year Soledad Hibner and Youth of the Year Brayden Gantzler. NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown spoke on mentorship & shared personal stories while a live auction raised funds with autographed footballs selling for $1,000 each. The Las Cruces Bulletin
- ➤ The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department is accepting entries for lighted floats in the Electric Light Parade featuring the theme Las Cruces Unidos. The parade will begin at 9 p.m. on July 3 at Apodaca Park, follow Solano Drive and Hadley Avenue, and end at Maag Softball Complex; registration starts April 28 with entries due by 5 p.m. June 18 and required meetings on June 26 and June 27 for float drivers and club organizers. - ➤ A trial for four suspects accused of killing three teens and injuring 15 others in the March 21 Young Park shooting is set to begin on February 9, 2026 and will last three weeks—each faces three counts of first-degree murder with the minors tried as adults. Las Cruces Sun News

- ➤ Local conservation groups say federal officials may shrink the boundaries of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument or allow mining, risking cultural sites and $35 million in economic benefits.
