Doña Ana Community College professor Dr. Joann Latorre received the Mission in Action Award from the AAUW at the state conference in April & has advanced STEM education for girls in grades six through 11 while mentoring True Grit Award recipients.

Doña Ana County held its first state-of-county address in over a decade today at the government center as Chair Christopher Schaljo-Hernandez and Manager Scott Andrews reviewed key projects such as road repairs, new public safety assets, and a mobile clinic for spay and neuter services. They also outlined future plans—including an ice-skating rink at the Fairgrounds, broadband expansion, and a new Office of Emergency Management building—and announced that this address will become an annual event with enhanced internship programs in partnership with local school districts.
