Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, founded in 2016 with New Mexico State University support, trains local doctors to meet the region’s healthcare needs — many graduates now serve in Las Cruces and surrounding communities.
The college continues to build partnerships that expand clinical training and research.
At a weekend hackathon held April 18–19 in Albuquerque, NMSU students built innovative apps; Crimson Devs won first place with Pantry.ai, which tracks pantry items to reduce food waste, while Team Beep Boop placed second with WaterOptix, a tool that advises farmers on water use.
