CRRUA reported that a water sample from the Santa Teresa treatment facility collected on April 23 showed 12 ppb arsenic — above the EPA limit, though the utility quickly adjusted treatment protocols to lower the level below the maximum.

The agency will conduct additional tests today and on May 20 to confirm the water's safety.

Health officials have reported 71 measles cases across five counties, with Doná Ana County having two cases and Lea County reporting 64 cases with six hospital stays and one death.

They urge residents to check their vaccine records and get a measles shot—free walk-in shots are available at public health offices in Las Cruces.
