- ➤ Mesilla Valley Christian’s baseball team won its first state championship using a giant inflatable hammer as a cheerful symbol during their 19-3 postseason run (they defeated Hozho Academy 22-0 in the final). The Las Cruces Bulletin
- ➤ Las Cruces area athletes shined on May 16 at the state track and field championships in Albuquerque. Senior Miles Odom set a new state record in the pole vault at 16 ft 7 in + he joined sophomore Daxton Coombs and senior Sofia Herrera in strong local showings. The Las Cruces Bulletin
- ➤ Mayfield High School softball team won its first state championship with a 20-2 game over Las Cruces High after a record-setting inning where they scored 12 runs. They ended the season 29-2 with 98 home runs and credit their teamwork and extra workouts for the success. The Las Cruces Bulletin
