- ➤ Tibor Kocsis, a 17-year veteran firefighter, was named the new Deputy Chief of Administration for the Las Cruces Fire Department on May 19 — he had served as Battalion Chief since 2021 and led key rescue and flood response operations. He will work closely with department leadership to maintain and improve emergency services. Las Cruces Today
- ➤ Today, the New Mexico Environment Department filed a lawsuit against the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority for failing to treat drinking water and notify residents of high arsenic levels—one violation occurred on May 6. Doña Ana County terminated its agreement with CRRUA and Sunland Park will seek council action on June 4 to form its own water department. The Las Cruces Bulletin
