ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Feb. 27, a dust storm on I-10 near Lordsburg caused an 11-vehicle crash that killed Joseph Malley, and state and federal officials along with scientists are studying wind erosion and road conditions to improve driver safety—experts warned that drier soil from climate change may make the highway even riskier.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Innovative Space Carrier Inc and its U.S. subsidiary Sirius Technologies signed a two-year operational lease at Spaceport America in May to test and develop launch vehicles — the first new tenant since a state land lease update in March. The company will build new test facilities to advance its work on a reusable launch vehicle and related technologies.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

CRIME NEWS

  • Las Cruces Police Department reported that a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in a road rage incident at the intersection of Solano Drive & Spruce Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday, June 2, and the investigation continues as authorities offer a $2,000 reward for any tips.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

  • The University Art Museum will host the 10th annual Feminist Border Arts Film Festival with 66 films and panels on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7 plus the 2nd annual Zine Festival on Saturday featuring international zines and a comic workshop at 1 p.m. plus admission is free and open to everyone.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
