- ➤ Sunland Park approved the creation of a city utility department last week after Doña Ana County ended its deal with Camino Real Regional Utility Authority. The city is now weighing options to oversee water service and set aside $1.2 million to remove sediment from water tanks (the work will occur in the fall and winter) while keeping service steady. - ➤ Erin Taormino riding Hazardouz Material won the 2025 World’s Greatest Horseman title with an 884.5 composite score, making her the first woman champion. Tres Osos Performance Horses—founded by Linda Mars, Paula Mize and Dave Mize in the Mimbres Valley—breeds and trains top performance horses using advanced artificial insemination.
