- ➤ A new book—Billy the Kid: The Life Behind the Legend—explores the outlaw's early years in Silver City and his trial for murder while detailing his time in Mesilla and legacy in Fort Sumner. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local public land activists in Las Cruces cheered when a Senate vote removed a bill that would have sold millions of acres, including parts of the Organ Mountains—Desert Peaks National Monument. Friends of the monument say they have won a battle for public lands, but they fear similar proposals will come back in the future. The Las Cruces Bulletin
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Las Cruces is partnering with El Paso Electric and Forth Mobility to launch an electric vehicle car sharing program this fall that lets drivers 21 and older rent one of two EVs for $5 per hour or $50 per day.
