- ➤ No Strings Theater Company celebrates 25 years in Las Cruces as it prepares an upcoming season with a mix of familiar plays and offbeat works selected by artistic director Ceil Herman, who directs three productions and works with guest directors for the remaining shows. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Gabe Vasquez hosted a roundtable on July 29 at Meerscheidt Recreation Center to address youth violence prevention with leaders from the city, county and schools—highlighting local efforts to provide safer spaces for teens. The center began a $2.1 million remodel six weeks ago that will expand its programming space and will continue until next spring—aiming to offer more activity areas for local youth.
