  • A new exhibit titled I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement from 1960 to 1970 will open at Branigan Cultural Center on Sept. 2 and run until Oct. 18 (in the Shannon Room) and will show rare photos taken by local and international photographers that document key events of the civil rights era. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Doña Ana Community College and FirstLight Federal Credit Union announced yesterday morning a partnership to fund the college's food pantry—now renamed the FirstLight Federal Credit Union Comfort Casita—with a $200,000 commitment over six years. The pantry, located on the Espina Campus in Alex Sanchez Hall room 109B, will also offer financial wellness workshops to support students, faculty, and staff.  Las Cruces Today

  • A 43-year-old man from Valencia County was hospitalized for plague after camping in Rio Arriba County and has now been discharged—his case is the first reported this year and health officials warn residents to take precautions outdoors.  Las Cruces Today
