CULTURE NEWS

  • Gallery 925 at 925 N. Mesquite St. will host an art show on Friday, October 3rd featuring works by artists Dina D’Argo and Vickie Morrow. D’Argo will display painted canvases and wood pieces decorated with recycled glass and horsehair while Morrow will show assemblage art made from everyday objects.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
  • Tim Staley, an English teacher at Organ Mountain High School, runs Grandma Moses Press—a one-man micro press he started in high school—to publish innovative poetry including his scented chapbook Applepear. He said he runs the press for his love of poetry rather than for profit and works to inspire his students to embrace creative writing.  The Las Cruces Bulletin

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners approved Project Jupiter with a 4—1 vote amid protests and heated public comment where community members raised concerns over water and tax issues. The Industrial Revenue Bond will fund an AI data center in Santa Teresa that will open in 2028 and create high-paying jobs.  The Las Cruces Bulletin
