Seven projects to boost New Mexico specialty crops will launch this fall with $611,032 in federal funding from the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program managed by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture—initiatives include apple revitalization and local wine grape awareness that will run through Sept. 29 to support research, marketing, education, and supply chain improvements.

Las Cruces High School’s Bulldawgs completed a perfect 10-0 season and earned the top state seed after beating Centennial 31-21 on Halloween night at the Field of Dreams—coach Mark Lopez said the team will focus on improving as they begin the playoffs on Nov.
