About this event
The perfect pairing, this class includes a Yin practice followed by Yoga Nidra. In the first half of the class, a sequence of Yin Yoga postures prepares the body for the relaxing and restorative practice of Yoga Nidra. During the Yin practice, postures are held for an extended period of time, anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes each, to allow connective tissues to be therapeutically stretched, activating meridians and improving the energy flow throughout the body. The Yoga Nidra practice that follows is a form of guided meditation. Participants are led through stages of awareness and perception by the instructor with the intention of achieving total mental, physical, and emotional relaxation. Students are guided to use a personal Sankalpa, or resolve as an individual intention that they wish to plant deep in the subconscious mind for the purpose of transformation and healing. Overall, the practice is relaxing, restorative, and extremely restful. The benefits of Yoga Nidra include better sleep, stress reduction, increased awareness, and focus, and feelings of clarity, peace, and calm.
